The Dungeons and Dragons game is one that is very tricky and as such needs you to be on top of your game at all times. While playing the game, different classes use what is available to them to deal damages to their enemies. The target is victory. However, not all classes can proficient in martial weapons and in their usage. Sorcerers, Wizards, and Warlocks for example are not very good at martial weapons. Nevertheless, they are good at casting spells.
However, not all spell deals damage just like martial weapons. They merely help the caster to escape such weapons. Furthermore, they need to be very creative to turn a spell into a damage-dealing one. Unfortunately, these spells need spell slots to be cast and most times some spells cannot be conjured on the fly. It takes some sort of time and ingredients before one can pull such spells. This is where cantrips come in handy.
A cantrip is a spell that can be cast at will, without using a spell slot, and without being prepared in advance. Repeated practice has fixed the spell in the caster’s mind and infused the caster with the magic needed to produce the Effect over and over. A cantrip’s Spell Level is 0. Ultimate Chill is one of such cantrips used in the Dungeons and Dragons games.
However, these cantrips are very weak. Probably because their spell level is 0. They are the basic spells. They only require the verbal and somatic components to trigger it. But some cantrips deal greater damage to enemies than others. One of the highest damage-dealing cantrips in the Dungeons and Dragons games is the Ultimate Chill Touch.
What is the Chill Touch?
You create a ghostly, skeletal hand in the space of a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the creature to assail it with the chill of the grave. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 necrotic damage, and it can’t regain hit points until the start of your next turn. Until then, the hand clings to your target.
If you hit an undead target, it also has a disadvantage on attack rolls against you until the end of your next turn. This spell’s damage increases by 1d8 when you reach the 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8).
